URGENT COMPANY BRIEFING[]

Space Rig 17 // All Hands Bulletin // Clearance Level Ligma

Management is proud to announce the expansion of our prospecting operations on Hoxxes IV, clearing missions in the newly-discovered Cerulean Cove and Desolate Hollows biomes. In addition to your normal mining tasks, you are to research and explore these locations, to help prepare your fellow miners on what strange new creatures and environments to expect there.

Management sends their regards.

Update Changes[]

New Biome: Cerulean Cove[]

This strange, blue biome features bizarre living walls and unique pale, white, extra-hardy wildlife variants. Bring plenty of ammo, and watdh where you step, lest you get digested by the microbe colonies making up the walls.

New Biome: Desolate Hollows[]

A sparce, dead biome, the only things that can survive here are small moss and lichen colonies, amoebas, bacteria, and, unfortunately, Mactera and Glyphids, whose natural nutrient sources are currently unknown. They’re extra hungry here, so they’ll be bitey even by Hoxxes standards. Luckily though, this is the first Hoxxes region with three crafting minerals present, so at least you’ll have the gear to deal with it.

New Resource: Soft Morkite[]

Soft Morkite, exclusively found in the cerulean cove, is a new objective resource. Replacing standard Morkite in mining missions and deep dives in the biome, it has a satisfying “squelch” sound upon being mined. Thanks to all the dedicated fans who requested this feature, we hope you love hearing the moist sounds as much as we enjoyed making them!

New Enemy: Glyphid Milky Leaky Spreader[]

A native to the Cerulean Cove, this creature is a tougher, bigger, fully-grown specimen of the Septic Spreader, who migrate to the biome to undergo metamorphosis at maturity.

New Enemy: Mactera Microbe Bomber[]

Another native to the Cerulean Cove, the Microbe Bomber is a sub-species of Mactera Goo Bomber that has adapted to the local environment. Like the Milky Leaky Spreader, it is bigger, tougher, pale white, and more dangerous.

New Enemy: Cerulean Swine Nexus (new Tar Hog Nexus variant)[]

Unlike the fan favourite regular Tar Hog Nexus, this Cerulean Cove exclusive variant will also freeze any dwarves it attacks, and glows bright blue.

New Performance Pass[]

Another 100 tiers of resources, cosmetics, and, for the first time, a way to obtain error cubes aside from mining them!

As always all elements of the Performance Pass are completely free and will remain obtainable after this season ends.

Space Rig Canteen[]

For those miners who have figured out the secrets of the Error Cubes and found the legendary miner himself, a new reward awaits. The new KAY-BOT found there offers various food items for sale, some being single use with permanent stat increases, while others offering powerful temporary buffs and bonuses for your next mission. Sadly, it isn’t very tasty.

Cave Leech overhaul[]

To better balance cave leeches, they will now only spawn in the “Cave Leech Cluster” mutator. Their grab speeds have been adjusted, and they will make more noise. They are once again back in the game after being temporarily removed in Season 05: Drilling Deeper.

Weapon and Equipment Balance[]

Subata 120

  • Increased base weakpoint damage bonus (from 1.25 to 2)
  • Increased base ammo (from 144 to 200)
  • Reduced base reload time (from 1.9s to 1s)

Experimental Plasma Charger

  • Removed ability to destroy terrain and minerals.
  • Charged shots will now disable all Rival enemies, Bet-c, Omen drones, and Omen tower segments for 30 seconds.

M1000 Classic

  • Removed charged shot functionality
  • Removed the “Hipster” overclock, which is now the default weapon functionality. Anyone who already had this overclock unlocked will have their material cost refunded.
  • “Electrocuting Focus Shots” renamed to “Electrocuting Shots” and now applies electrical damage to all shots
  • “Hookshot”, “Active System Stability”, “Hoverclock” now enable focus shot functionality
  • “Supercooling chamber” now only allows one to use focused shots. Increased damage bonus from +300% to +500%.

APD-B317

  • Pinging the mushrooms in solo play will now say the correct voiceline, and Bosco will (attempt to) join in, despite their inability to talk.
  • Upon a player joining a game and replacing Bosco, the destroyed drone can now be picked up and returned like Doretta’s head. This will yield a +1 survival bonus.

Drilldozer

  • Returning Doretta’s head to the drop pod at the end of the mission will now yield a +1 survival bonus.
  • Due to new green energy laws, the Drilldozer will no longer run on oil shale, and has been converted into an EV. Instead, refuelling segments will involve Mission Control sending down a fuel cell pod, which has to be plugged into the Drilldozer. Miners will then need to wait for it to recharge. New Mission Control and dwarf voice lines have been added to reflect this.

Bug Fixes[]

  • Fixed inconsistencies in Hazard 5 Plus difficulty scaling
  • Fixed bug where an Error Cube would rarely fail to generate despite the 100% spawn chance
  • Fixed bug where performing Error Cube Code Easter egg would not open the Space Rig Canteen’s door (this fix is retroactive and you don’t need to input the code again to unlock the door).
  • Fixed bug where bringing an error cube aboard the space rig to unlock the Error Handler beer would cause it to vanish
  • Fixed an unintended feature where glyphid grunts tamed with the Beast Master perk had more health than a normal grunt
