The Scout is one of the four playable dwarves in the game. He is equipped with a 'Deepcore GK2' assault rifle, the 'Jury Rigged Boomstick" shotgun, a reusable Grappling Gun, and a Flare Gun that fires sticky flares.

The scout boasts the fastest movement speed in the game, due to his reusable grappling gun, and is the only class capable of placing sticky flares using the flare gun, that can be used to light up much larger areas than the normal flares are capable of.

The scout possesses a specialized grenade, the 'IFG' or Inhibitor Field Generator that when thrown, detonates to create an area of effect that slows down all enemies who enter the radius by 75% of their movement speed for the duration that they remain within the area of effect. This grenade can be upgraded to weaken any enemies caught within the field by 33%, causing them to deal less damage.

Grappling Gun Max Range 20 The ultimate explorer's tool - this self-recharging grappling hook will get you out of any sticky situation, and onto any distant ledge. Handle with care - ending up dangling from the ceiling and then dropping 60 feet onto the floor is not covered by the employee insurance. No ammunition limit, but cannot recharge while in use and prevents use of other items whilst grappled to things. Makes for a great combo with Engineer's platform gun.

Inhibitor-Field Generator Slowdown Strength 75% The IFG - or Inhibitor-Field Generator - is one of the latest inventions of the good people down in R&D. Toss one of these bad boys into a cluster of bugs, and watch them slow right down. Unlike other classes, the Scout's grenades create a persistent electrical field which slows enemies that enter it. Can also be upgraded to weaken them.

Upgrades

All equipment can be upgraded at the Space Rig before missions, using credits and other resources. Those credits are earned during said missions by finishing them and collecting Gold.
