The Rockpox Grunt is a hostile creature found on Hoxxes during a Lithophage event. Formed from a Glyphid Grunt being infected by a Rockpox Larva, the Rockpox Grunt is the end result of this ghastly mutation. The takeover from the sickness has killed off the Glyphid's central immune system, making them incredibly numb to pain. This numbness to pain makes these Glyphid-transformed Lithophages extremely hard to kill. They are usually found near a Lithophage meteorite during an outbreak and will defend the meteorite to its death in order to protect it.
Combat[]
As a Glyphid infected with the Rockpox, the Rockpox Grunt's body is highly resistant to conventional damage. What you need to do is aim for its glowing Rockpox Blisters. Popping each one of them deals tremendous damage to the Rockpox Grunt, and popping all of them outright kills it.
Caution must also be taken as unlike normal Glyphid Grunts, the Rockpox Grunt actually behave more like a Glyphid Acid Spitter due to the Rockpox Infestation attack, but whereas the normal Acid Spitter spits out acid, the Rockpox Grunt spits out a phlegm of Lithophage, dealing both high damage and a build-up in the Rockpox effect. Due to the presence of the blisters, As such, it is best to use splash damage weapons or area-covering damage weapons that could hit near all of the blisters at once to get rid of them.
Like all Lithophage infected organisms, they can be repelled (although not damaged) by a LithoFoam.
