Nitra is a common mineral resource, available in every Planetary Region, however only in the Mining Expedition Mission Type. It is used as a resource to call in Resupply Drops. 80 pieces of Nitra are required to call down a Resupply. Once arrived, the resupply will contain 4 stacks of supplies; each of which resupply 50% of your health, ammo, and grenades.
Appearance[]

As it appears in-game
Nitra is a deep crimson-red ore, spread across the walls of the caverns. Unlike most other ores, it bulges out of the walls prominently. Nitra can be seen glowing in the darkness, however it does not glow as brightly as other resources such as Morkite.
Nitra pieces use the same model as Bismor , Croppa , Enor Pearl, Jadiz, Umanite, and Hollomite.
Locations[]
Nitra can be found in any environment. It typically spawns up on the walls and sometimes on ceilings of larger caves. In tighter caves, Nitra will typically spawn within reach from the floor of the cave. In Magma Core, Nitra has a higher chance to spawn high on the ceiling due to the ribbed ceiling structure found in many larger Magma Core caves.
Trivia[]
- Nitra is similar in sound to nitre (aka saltpetre, potassium nitrate, or KNO3), which is a key ingredient in the making of gunpowder. This may just be a coincidence, however.
- During early development, Resupplies cost Gold. This is unrelated.
- Nitra is possibly based on Dinitrogen Tetroxide, a red gas used in the production of rocket fuel. This would make sense, as the drop pods require fuel to reach their destination.
- Nitra is a direct reference to the Slovakian village of the same name which in real life is the world's biggest exporter of Nitra.
