About

The Laser Pointer is a support tool universal to every class in the game. It is accessible by holding the Control key on a keyboard, and left bumper on a controller.

When aimed at a solid surface, the Laser Pointer will reveal its distance from the player and the name of the material its aimed at. When it is aimed at a Resource, the screen will flash green and play a pinging sound effect to indicate its presence. If the Laser Pointer is pointed at an enemy, the screen will turn red.

Enemies, resources, and other interesting objects can be marked using the Laser Pointer by pressing the fire button while aiming at the desired object. Marked enemies and objects can be seen through walls, making the Laser Pointer a useful tool for alerting team mates to the location of enemies or resources.

You can also set personal waypoints which are only visible to you by pressing the use button. Waypoints are only visible whilst the Laser Pointer is equipped, and on the Terrain Scanner.

The Laser Pointer is a crucial tool in Solo Mode, where marking objects will cause Bosco to mine resources, fight enemies, or light up an area. After installing the Rockets modification, the Laser Pointer can be used to instruct Bosco to fire missiles at enemies.

Similarly, an Engineer with the Target Prioritization modification can mark targets for his LMG Gun Platform to attack first.
