The Glyphid King Spitter is a monstrous evolution of the common Glyphid Acid Spitter, boasting thicker armor, burrowing capability, and a devastating ranged attack. We believe that Karl was the first, and last, dwarf to ever see one of these creatures. Exercise extreme caution should one of these appear in the caves.

Glyphid King Spitters are ranged Glyphid enemies similar to that of the Glyphid Acid Spitter and Glyphid Menace. The King Spitter boasts a thick carapace and a maw overflowing with acidic bile. It has the same body shape compared to most Glyphids but is colored in a dull red and orange. Unlike the Glyphid Web Spitter and Glyphid Acid Spitter, it's body does not glow on it's own, making it very difficult to spot without flares.

The King Spitter is a ranged combatant. It will silently position its self before firing, and will immediately burrow if it takes any damage. It prefers to emerge high up in the ceiling, but can unborrow anywhere and will often emerge directly behind a dwarf, firing many shots in multiple succession.

King Spitters retain the wall-crawling tendencies of their brethren, but can also burrow underground similar to a Glyphid Menace. It will silently position its self before firing, and will immediately burrow if it takes any damage. It prefers to emerge high up in the ceiling, but can unborrow anywhere and will often emerge directly behind a dwarf, unleashing a torrent of acidic globs. These attacks deal significantly more damage than those of a regular Acid Spitter, and will also slow a Dwarf's movement speed by 25% for 5 seconds per impact.

Attacks[]

King Spitters only have one attack in which they spit out a corrosive vomit that slows over time. From a distance, the projectiles are easy to dodge, but if the King Spitter emerges at close range, the high shot damage can quickly deplete a dwarf's health.
