The Glyphid Slasher is a more aggressive mutation of the Grunt, equipped with monstrously oversized claws and jaws capable of ripping through most armor and stunning even the hardiest of dwarves. Far more aggressive even than the Grunt, the Slasher is a terrifying opponent that should never be underestimated.
— Miner's Manual Description

Glyphid Grunt Slashers are a variant of the normal Glyphid Grunt. While sharing a body shape, the Grunt Slasher is covered in sharp white growths, and possesses sharper forelimbs. Slashers are slightly stronger than their normal counterparts, and attack with much more force. Their attacks are particularly dangerous, as in addition to more damage, a hit from a Slasher inflicts stun on a Dwarf. Slashers share the armor and weaknesses of normal Grunts. Their mouth should be targeted to kill them before they can get in range to stun a dwarf.

Combat

Glyphid Grunt Slashers behave similarly to Glyphid Grunts, running straight at players to engage in melee combat. However, Slashers have more attack, health, and movement speed. Additionally, the Slasher's stun attack can often lead to situations where unsuspecting players are quickly overwhelmed without an escape, enhancing the attacks of nearby Glyphids by allowing additional hits to land. To effectively ward off the threat of Slashers, players can utilize armor-breaking weapons to quickly dispose of them with focused fire.

Throwables such as the High Explosive Grenade and Cluster Grenade are particularly effective at eliminating clusters of Slashers and nearby Grunts, whereas Impact Axes can be used for single-target precision.

On Hazard Level 5, Slashers deal 250% of a standard Grunt's damage. At this rate, a single attack breaks a player's shield absent of damage resistance, and between 4 and 5 attacks will down a player depending on their maximum health.
