The Glyphid Ember was unearthed during the "Drilling Deeper" Campaign. It is a terrifying testament to the horrors that lurk within Hoxxes' magma core. These Creatures embodies the raw heat and fury of the planet's fiery debts. Its carapace glows with an inferno light, and its body crackles with superheated energy. Wherever the Ember walks, it leaves a trail of melten rock, which may just set your beard on fire!
— Miner's Manual Description

The Glyphid Ember's ability to create persistent environmental hazards, inflict heavy fire damage, and erupt in fiery explosions makes them a dire threat, especially in cramped tunnels. Eliminating them swiftly and strategically is paramount for mission success. Exercise extreme caution and prioritize eliminating them before they overwhelm the team. The lingering magma pool left behind by the Ember can be used strategically. Dwarves with a keen tactical mind can lure enemies into the pool to eliminate them without firing a shot. However, this tactic requires a high degree of caution and coordination to avoid getting caught in the blast zone.

Attacks[]

The Glyphid Ember doesn't have a direct attack, but instead radiates intense heat, capable of igniting dwarves at close range. This makes close-quarters combat exceptionally dangerous. The Ember's body is made up of a superheated carapace. This barrier constantly radiates heat, making it extremely difficult to freeze. Upon death, it erupts in a massive fireball, inflicting heavy fire damage in a wide radius. This explosion also leaves behind a large pool of magma that persists for an extended period. The Ember's fiery mutation appears to be a double-edged sword. Focused fire can cause it to overheat and trigger a premature explosion, potentially taking out nearby swarms of Glyphids.
