| “ | Forge equipment with rocks and stones? Aye, I'll get it done. |
| — A proposed voice line for the Forge Master, a class concept scrapped during development. |
The Forge Master was a class concept that was in an early stage of development for Deep Rock Galactic but was ultimately scrapped and never officially released. Any information presented below refers to this unreleased concept. The Forge Master does not exist in the game.
There were indications or rumors that the Forge Master was at one point considered for a release, possibly around the time of Season 6: Corporate Expansion, but its development was reportedly halted or the concept was shelved for unconfirmed reasons. Consequently, it was not part of Update 35: Furry Funtimes or any other official game update.
The conceptual design for its primary weapons included a Battle Axe, a Vibro Blade, and a Core Splitter, while its planned secondaries were to be a Forge Cooler, a Magma Bucket, and an Anvil. The intended equipment for this class featured a Mobile Forge, a Forge Hammer, and a "Macaque" Armor Rig, with throwables like a Combustible Lemon, a Delicious Cookie, and a Pineapple Surprise also being part of its design phase.

| “ | As the Forge Master, you are the only one to carry the powerful MOBILE FORGE, and the entire team depends on you for upgrades. To Forge upgrades, you are also equipped with a FORGE HAMMER, letting you craft new upgrades anywhere. But, while you are carrying a BATTLEAXE and a FORGE COOLER, you should still be careful not to get cut off from your team - the caves don't take kindly to lone crafters. |
| — Believed to be an early internal description or design pitch for the scrapped Forge Master class. |
(An early model found using data mining is pictured here.)
The Forge Master was conceptualized as the slowest class in the game, a characteristic attributed to its lack of a dedicated mobility tool. A core element of its intended design was the unique Mobile Forge, which, after being fuelled by Oil Shale 2, would have allowed players to melt minerals found in caves and craft them into upgrades using a Forge Hammer. The primary role envisioned for the Forge Master was to provide on-demand support to other Dwarves by creating these upgrades as mission objectives or combat situations required.
The design for the Forge Master included four distinct grenade types: The Combustible Lemon, intended to set enemies on fire with an AoE explosion; the Rotten Banana, designed to apply a slow effect and disgust, with a potential mechanic for enemies to slip on the peel; the Pineapple Surprise, conceptualized to stick to enemies and be difficult to remove; and the Delicious Cookie, which was planned to be throwable at both allies and enemies to either pacify foes or provide temporary buffs to players. As the class was scrapped, these grenades and their functionalities were never implemented.
Equipment (Planned for Scrapped Class)[]
All official classes have twelve pieces of gear, each of which can be individually upgraded using
Credits and crafting resources. There are currently four unlockable weapons per official class. Each weapon has its own assignment. Once a weapon assignment has been completed, that weapon can then be purchased from the upgrade terminal.
The following equipment list details items that were planned or prototyped for the scrapped Forge Master concept and are not available in the live game:

- It is believed that an early character concept for the Forge Master included a Scottish origin. However, as the class was never finalized or released, this remains speculative based on early design ideas.
