The Corrosive Sludge Pump is what happens when the maintenance staff are left with too much time on their hands. A complicated network of piping, distillation bottles, and safety valves results in a very capable device indeed - lobbing globs of toxic waste at those you disapprove of has never been so fun! |
— Item Description |
The Corrosive Sludge Pump is an unlockable primary weapon for the Driller. It is a large sludge dispenser that fires corrosive sludge, capable of melting enemies. It consists of a number of pipes and valves wrapped around a fuel tank with a nozzle.
The Sludge Pump has two firing modes; Tapping the fire button will fire a single fragment of sludge whereas holding the fire button and releasing will fire a sludge bomb that causes several fragments to fly out upon impact.
When a corrosive projectile impacts an enemy, that enemy becomes visibly coated with sludge and takes damage over time (DoT). When the projectile impacts a surface, it creates a corrosive puddle that causes DoT to any enemy walking over it, along with slowing them down.
Modifications
There are five tiers of modifications and each tier has two to three upgrades. Only one modification can be equipped per tier.
Corrosive Sludge Pump Modifications | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Mod | Effect | Description | Price | |
Tier 1 | High Capacity Tanks |
+25 Tank Size | The good thing about clips, magazines, ammo drums, fuel tanks ...you can always get bigger variants. | |
Better Air Pressurizer |
+33% Projectile Velocity | The air pressurizer is improved, making the projectiles travel faster and further. | ||
Air Sensitive Compound |
+ Bigger Puddles | When the goo is exposed to air it expands, making puddles cover a larger area on impact. | ||
Tier 2 | Dyse Nozzle |
+25 Charged Splash Damage | With the Dyse Nozzle your charged shot is launched with more force, making it damaging on impact. | |
Atomizer Nozzle |
+4 Charged Fragment Count | With the Atomizer Nozzle your charged shot will leave behind more fragments on impact. | ||
Potent Goo Mix |
+15 Normal Shot Damage | Normal shots do more damage on impact. | ||
Tier 3 | Supersaturation |
+2 Effects Duration, +6 Puddle Lifespan | The goo goes through a process of supersaturation after impact, making the effects and puddles last longer. | |
More Goo Canisters |
+50 Max Ammo | You had to give up some sandwich-storage, but your total ammo capacity is increased! | ||
Tier 4 | Spillback Extension |
-1 Charge Cost | With the Spillback Extension added to the nozzle you spend less goo when charging. | |
Improved Spooling Mechanism |
-50% Charge Time | The spooling mechanism has been improved and can get you to a full charge faster! | ||
Tier 5 | Protein Disruption Mix |
+ Increased Slowdown Effect | Disrupting the protein molecules in the goo mix has made it more rigid and harder for creatures to move through. | |
Fluoroantimonic Acid |
+ Increased Corrosive Damage per sec. | A new and improved goo recipe with very aggressive properties makes every second in it more hellish! | ||
Ingredient X |
+ Armor Melting | R&D mixed the goo with a nasty secret ingredient that melts away the plating of goo covered enemies in record time! |
Overclocks
Overclock calculations happen after modifiers.
Stats breakdown
Understanding the Weapon
- Damage is how much damage is dealt upon direct impact of an uncharged shot.
- Charged Area Damage is how much damage is dealt within the damage radius around the impact of a charged shot.
- Charged Fragment Damage is how much damage is dealt by each fragment spawned by a charged shot.
- Charged Fragment Count is the amount of fragments spawned by a charged shot.
- Effects Duration is the amount of time in seconds that corrosion affects an enemy when it is directly impacted by a corrosive projectile
- Puddle Lifespan is the amount of time in seconds that a corrosive puddle persists after a corrosive projectile lands on surface
Normal and Charged Shot Breakdown
Normal Shots & Charged Fragments
- Damage Type: 75% Kinetic / 25% Corrosive
- Damage Radius: 1m
- Max Damage Radius: 0.5m
- Minimum Damage: 25%
- Hitbox Radius: 0.25m
Charged Shots
- Damage Type: 75% Kinetic / 25% Corrosive
- Damage Radius: 2.5m
- Max Damage Radius: 1m
- Minimum Damage: 25%
- Hitbox Radius: 0.45m
Corrosion Mechanics
Enemies hit directly or cought within the splash radius of the sludge projectiles have a 100% chance to be applied with Corrosion. (Note: Enemies walking through a corrosive puddle does not apply/refresh this effect.)
- Damage (per tick): 5
- Damage Type: 100% Corrosive
- Tick interval: 0.2-0.3s
- Slowdown: 35% (x0.65 Movement Speed)
- 44.75% (x0.5525 Movement Speed) with Hydrogen Ion Additive Overclock
- 51.25% (x0.4875 Movement Speed) with Protein Disruption Mix Mod
- 58.46% (x0.4144 Movement Speed) with both Protein Disruption Mix Mod and Hydrogen Ion Additive Overclock
- Ingredient X adds armor damage to the Corrosion DoT. This damage is applied with every corrosion damage tick to a random armor plate selected from the currently unbroken plates on the enemy
- Armor Damage (per tick): 20-25
Puddle Properties
Enemies take damage for however long they remain on a corrosive puddle. (Note: This DoT stacks with the aforementioned Corrosion DoT effect.)
- Damage (per tick): 4
- Damage Type: 100% Corrosive
- Tick interval: 0.2-0.3s
- Slowdown: 45% (x0.55 Movement Speed)
- 72.5% (x0.275 Movement Speed) with Protein Disruption Mix Mod
- Hydrogen Ion Additive Overclock does not affect corrosive puddle DoT or Slowdown
- Puddle Diameter is affected by whether the puddle was created by a normal shot or a charged shot. Charged fragments create the same size puddles as normal shots
- Normal diameter: 1.2 meters
- Charged diameter: 2.4 meters
- Air Sensitive Compound increases both normal and charged shot puddle diameter by 25% to 1.5 meters and 3 meters respectively
- Puddles ignite after accumulating 20 Heat from any source. While burning the puddles deal additional Fire damage to enemies that walk through them
- Additional Damage (per tick): 12 Fire
- Heat (per tick): 12°
- Tick Interval: 0.5-1.0s
Unique Modifications
Unique Overclocks
Goo Bomber Special
Charged Shots now drop their Fragments straight down while flying, instead of upon impact. Every Fragment dropped reduces the damage of the main projectile. After every Fragment has been dropped, the main projectile is destroyed.
Sludge Blast
Changes the Charged Shot into a shotgun-like blast of the Fragments instead of a larger projectile. Fragments use the Charged Shot's damage instead. Charge Shots are also launched at a 3° angle instead of the normal 9° angle.
Mastery
Each modification that is purchased advances a mastery bar by one unit.
Mastery unlocks:
- Three modifications – First Stripe Weapon Paintjob
- Seven modifications – Deepcore Weapon Paintjob
- All modifications – The Company Special Weapon Paintjob

Trivia
- The Corrosive Sludge Pump's weapon prototype used the Platform Gun model and its goo blobs more closely resembled the goo generated by Goo Sacks.
