About
The CRSPR Flamethrower is the Driller's default primary weapon. It is a combat-ready flamethrower which gets its fuel from large tanks inserted into a holder on the side. The huge oversized nozzle on the end of the gun has two gas emitters to turn the weapon's fuel into a sea of hellfire.
The Flamethrower emits a stream of fire when the trigger is held, damaging enemies and quickly raising their temperature to ignite them. Creatures lit on fire take progressive damage over time. The large size of each tank coupled with the infinite piercing aspect of the flame stream make this weapon excellent at area control, being able to damage several enemies at once and quickly killing lighter foes who can't take the heat.
The Flamethrower leaves behind "Sticky Flames" on surfaces whenever the fire stream touches a part of the world. Sticky flames will rapidly damage enemies who walk through them, dealing extra damage and further reinforcing the "area control" role this weapon fulfills. Sticky flames are excellent for stopping small enemies like Glyphid Swarmers who instantly die when trying to run through them.
The Flamethrower also has several other unique aspects; it has minor armor piercing abilities due to not using bullets or explosives, and it can damage enemies through their armor plates (such as Glyphid Praetorians or Glyphid Grunt Guards) albeit at a reduced rate. The weapon deals bonus damage to Glacial Strata enemy variants due to its nature as a fire weapon, and also to Mactera enemies (as a trait unique to the gun).
The biggest flaw of the weapon is its range; the fire stream only extends so far outwards, requiring the driller to be up close to his foes to get the most out of the weapon, which can be dangerous. Mactera enemies can be particularly problematic for this weapon, even considering the damage boost, as they typically fly outside of its range and force the Driller to use his secondary weapons. And while the weapon is excellent to kill small and medium foes with, its low base damage causes it to struggle against bigger foes like Praetorians who can stand up to the fire stream long enough to potentially damage teammates.

Usage & Strategies
- The CRSPR Flamethrower is a very useful weapon to have during missions with the Regenerative Bugs warning, as its consistent damage will keep creatures from regenerating, especially when they are ignited.

Unique Modifications
Heat Radiance
Heat Radiance is a modification that causes the Flamethrower to emit an aura of heat onto all enemies within 3 meters, while the trigger is being held. The heat is strong enough to ignite most enemies after 1 second of constant fire, and can expedite the rate at which enemies at very close ranges are ignited by the flamethrower's direct flame or sticky flames.

Trivia
- Sticky Flames will melt the environment in Glacial Strata. They can also melt platforms if the Engineer who placed them has the Plastcrete MKII modification.
- "CRSPR" is a play on the word "crisper", referring to the weapon's ability to burn creatures to a crisp.
