Vanity shop is a Terminal where you can purchase various cosmetic items for your Dwarves, it's located in the Space Rig. They are usually more expensive when compared to the upgrade prices, but cost no or not many crafting resources. Each dwarf already has a number of items unlocked by default, each purchase of a beard, armor, headgear, hair color, etc. is specifically bought for that dwarf.

There's currently 10 skin colors, 8 hair colors, 16 sets of armor, 26 pieces of headgear / hairstyles, 4 eyebrow varieties, 8 mustaches, 7 beards, and 4 sideburns varieties. In total 83 vanity items are available for purchase.
